Do you get a refund if you return a Zipcar early?
Since you technically have the car for the full time, you won’t get any money back for returning a Zipcar early as another member can’t rent it until the end of your reservation. You do, however, want to avoid returning a car late as Zipcar’s late fees begin at $50.
Can you take Zipcar early?
If there is no booking right before your trip, you can take the car up to 14-minutes early at no additional charge. If the car is not available, or if the prior ride has not yet ended, you will not be able to begin your trip early and will need to wait until the start time of your booking.
How does Zipcar know when you return the car?
Zipcar will know that you’ve completed the return when you lock the doors. When you return the car to the proper location, lock the doors using either the app or your Zipcard. Zipcar will process your car as returned at that point.

Zipcar may have access to video surveillance systems as well as cameras, where indicated by signage at the relevant Zipcar group location, tha record activity at our Zipcar pods.
Can Zipcar track your speed?
The policy says Zipcar does “not actively track or monitor vehicle location, and we do not story historical GPS data regarding vehicle location.”
