Are PFAFF presser feet interchangeable?
Most brands use the same universal snap-on system and that is the snap-on system we use on our universal snap-on presser feet. Some brands, like Pfaff have a different snap-on system though. With a suitable adapter you can however use all our universal snap-on presser feet on a Pfaff sewing machine.
Is PFAFF a low shank machine?
If your model did not come with a Pfaff snap on shank, you can purchase the Pfaff low shank ankle with the hi/low shank adapter. Now your classic Pfaff can use most of the current Pfaff snap on feet.

How do I know if my sewing machine is low or high shank?
To determine your machine’s shank size:
- Lower the presser foot completely flat.
- Using a ruler, measure from the base of the foot to the center of the presser foot thumb screw.
- If the shank is 075″ or 0.5″ or below, you have a low shank sewing machine.
- For shanks measuring 1″ and more, it’s a high shank machine.

What is a ruler foot?
Yep, a ruler foot is just a type of darning foot so that makes this another form of free motion quilting. That means you can quilt with rulers a bit, set your ruler aside and wiggle around with Stippling, then pick up your ruler again and get back to quilting straight lines, which is exactly what I did in the video.
